About Our Museum
From language and lifestyle to art, rituals, and craftsmanship, every exhibit reflects the spirit and resilience of the Tharu people. The museum serves as both a cultural archive and a living learning center, preserving generations of knowledge while inspiring future ones.
Established on Magh 13, 2075 B.S. / January 27, 2019, Tharu Cultural Museum is located in Chakhaura, Dang. The museum was created to preserve and promote the culture, history, lifestyle, and identity of the Tharu community. Through artifacts, traditional displays, paintings, tools, and cultural programs, the museum offers visitors a meaningful journey into Tharu heritage.
